What made this product possible?
<It all started with a successful 13kg weight loss in 3 months>
The first trigger was the staff's diet.
Our staff, who love coffee and sweets, have gained weight due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has prevented us from operating.
Instead of adding a generous amount of milk to the several cups of coffee he drank every day, he started adding a syrup made from boiled stevia (a natural sweetener with zero calories), which is many times sweeter than sugar, and he succeeded in losing 13 kg in three months.
This experience made me think, "This is amazing! I want to make diet sweets using stevia!"
I started making sweets.
However, stevia has a bitter taste, and while it goes well with coffee, it's the worst combination with sweets...
Still unable to give up, I searched for other healthy foods that wouldn't raise blood sugar levels (zero calories) and came across a fruit called Monk Fruit .
Monk fruit is a sweet fruit of a plant in the Cucurbitaceae family, and because it contains energy that is not absorbed by the body, there are no actual calories when consumed.
*In Japan, calories must be displayed according to labeling laws, but in other countries, they are listed as zero calories.
Monk fruit is also a health fruit that has been medically recognized for its anti-allergic, anti-tussive, anti-hypertensive, and anti-hyperglycemic properties.
*The monk fruit itself does not cure illness.
Pure Monk Fruit has a sweetness similar to that of brown sugar, so it's not lacking in sweetness, and it leaves you feeling satisfied even without the use of sugar or artificial sweeteners.
Although it gives you a feeling of satisfaction, Monk Fruit itself does not provide any energy that can be absorbed by the body, so it actually has zero calories.
No sugar is used for sweetness, so the calories are significantly reduced.
What's more, it doesn't raise blood sugar levels so you won't gain weight even if you eat it, making it the perfect dessert for people on a diet or who are concerned about their blood sugar levels.

Company mascot and rescue dog support
The company name is Sugarzero because it does not use sugar as an ingredient, and we also wanted to create a character logo.
I decided to use the mixed breed rescue dogs I currently have as mascot characters.
There is another reason why we chose rescue dogs as characters: we want to support dogs that are looking for foster parents .
We plan to use a portion of Sugarzero's sales to support rescue dogs (donating toilet sheets, dog food, etc. instead of money), and in the future we would like to support adoption events together with Sugar and Zero.
